Visa Support
Foreign participants are required to obtain a visa to enter Russia.

List of countries which citizens are exempt from the visa requirements to enter the Russian Federation

Information on applying for visa to Russia in your country may be found on the VFS Global website. Please first select "Russia" in "Visiting Country" line and then your country in "Applying from" line from the left side of the website.

Please be aware that in accordance with the Russian migration rules, the IFOST-2019 Forum participants need to hold the HUMANITARIAN VISA.

It is prohibited for a Touristic visa holder to visit and participate in the Forum sessions.

Tomsk Polytechnic University will provide a visa support document (an official visa invitation letter) for all IFOST participants.

Please attach all necessary documents when you register:

1. Visa support form.
2. Scanned copy of your passport. Only two-page opening with the photo page is required.

The invitation letter for an accompanying person could be issued as well upon a separate request send to Please indicate whom a person is accompanying and attach both documents mentioned above.

Please note that all official visa invitation letters are processed by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Federal Migration Service. Therefore, it takes time for the Organizing Committee to get the invitation letters (up to 40 working days).

So we highly recommend that participants start the visa arrangements well in advance.

July 15, 2019 - for citizens of countries which have a general visa regime with the Russian Federation

Please note that the invitation letter will only be issued upon confirmation of registration and receipt of full payment of the registration fee.
